Beyond the Label

Religion is the most misused word in the English language. It gets applied to institutional membership, cultural inheritance, and genuine spiritual conviction as if they were the same thing. They are not. Find Your Religion is a 20-question assessment that cuts through the label to the underlying archetype — the actual shape of your relationship to the sacred, the transcendent, and the community of practice.

The eight dimensions measured are: cosmology (how you understand the structure of reality), practice (how you engage the sacred), community (whether your path is solitary or collective), authority (where you locate spiritual truth), ethics (how your spiritual life shapes your moral action), mystery (your relationship to the unknowable), lineage (your relationship to inherited tradition), and embodiment (whether your practice lives in the body or the mind).

What the Results Show

Most people score as a hybrid — drawing from multiple traditions without fully inhabiting any of them. The assessment identifies your primary archetype (Mystic, Devotee, Scholar, Activist, Naturalist, Skeptic, Ritualist, or Seeker) and your secondary orientation. It also identifies the tensions in your current framework — the places where your stated beliefs and your actual practice diverge.

This is not a test of orthodoxy. There are no correct answers. The assessment is designed to produce an honest map, not a flattering one. The goal is clarity about where you actually are, which is the only useful starting point for any spiritual work.

Connection to Psychedelic Work

Tony Greenberg developed this assessment in the context of psychedelic medicine preparation. Understanding your spiritual archetype before entering altered states is one of the most underrated forms of set and setting work. The medicine will find your framework and work with it — or against it. Knowing your framework in advance is not optional for serious practitioners.
